 FAQs

  • A nanny share is an arrangement between two or more families who hire a nanny to care for both families’ children at the same time.

Nanny shares can be especially helpful for young families who are on the same schedule and only have 1-2 children each. These arrangements also have a cost benefit—both families agree to split the cost of child care, while the nanny still receives a fair hourly rate.

  • Yes! This is definitely an option, especially if one or more children will be partially present.

For example, if you have an older child in school, we can add stipulations for additional care in the contract for when your child’s school is closed.

  • In your contract with your care giver (yes, you need a contract), you can define “sick” and when you feel comfortable with the nanny working. You can also ask your nanny to recommend or help you find back up care when they are too sick to work.

As Nanny Share Nashville grows, we hope to add an additional directory of backup sitters or nannies to help fill sick day gaps.

  • Yes! A contract protects you and the nanny. A contract will clearly define job duties and expectations and provide both parties a pathway for ending the arrangement when appropriate.

  • Ideally, you want to be in a signed contract two weeks before your start date. If you are looking on your own, plan to start interviewing families and nannies at least two months before you need care.

NannyShare Nashville can help you find care faster. In as little as two weeks, you could be meeting with pre-screened families and nannies and finalizing a contract for your share.
